I recently bought a Sram Force chainset off a member of the forum, I paid via Paypal (as goods, not as gift) on the 30th of December, he said that it would be posted the next day, and this would have taken a few days to come through. After waiting for a bit (10th of Janruary), I PM'd him and asked whether he had sent it, this was his reply
Hi David!

Im really really sorry that I (honestly) havnt managed to get it sent yet. I went to the post office in the snow and my postage bill was £104 and yours was the last parcel and i didnt have enough to get it sent too. I will be posting it tomorrow for you, so it should be with you by wednesday at the very very latest.
Im really sorry for cockign you about

I said that this was fine, and waited a little longer, then Wednesday passed, and I PM'd him, and asked if he had posted it. This was on the 14th, and then, no reply. Then again on the 16th. These both went to the sentbox, which I believe that means that he has opened them?? I also sent him an email, and there was no reply.

Am I being unreasonable to ask for the goods which I was told would be posted the day after they were paid for? I have told him by PM and by email that he had until tomorrow to reply to me, is it that much to ask? All I want is an update on when they will arrive, and whether he has posted them yet.

I have looked through the forum, and the seller doesn't seem to be the most reliable at time keeping, I don't want to mention his name, because I think it would be unfair if there are legitimate reasons for them not arriving, but I can't seem to think of any. If he has time to open a PM, surely he has time to send a quick reply??

Does anyone have any advise for me?

David..... seems you've been fair and patient...... I expect you will hear from him soon as it's not difficult to identify the individual (I have) and he'll have trouble selling in the future if you don't get an appropriate resolution.

    Good luck

He had plenty of time to post the item before the snow started to fall. He has had payment from you since 30th December.

I personally dislike these people who seldom if ever actually contribute to the forum, instead only using it to promote their 'cycle parts sales business'.

He should refund you immediately or post the goods together with proof of postage, without delay.

Shall I start on the Hangman game?

How's my guess so far? :D

    I can sympathise with you.
I bought a bike of someone on this site and had to hound him for over 3 weeks before I received it.
In the end I got Paypal involved.

    I'd say S

If it is, I think there have been others previously showing concern after buying from him, but he always comes good in the end.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

It must be S_O_3_5_E - I knew it would be as soon as I saw the OP. He has a long history of selling loads of stuff, p*ssing a percentage of his customers off with failed delivery promises and excuses, and attacking those that criticise (I await my fate). He is obviously badly misunderstood and misrepresented, and is probably a fantastic guy.

No - not enough letters for me.

SCOTT325SE seems to be just one of the rogues who only spend time in the classifieds section.

    aaaah!
My apologies to the user who's id starts with 'f'
...however, it would be nice if you contributed a little more to the forum in areas other than the classifieds.

My only miserable buying experience on forums was with this guy. He's full of shit.

keeping buyers' money for weeks or months before delivering goods is not coming good enough, in fact it verges on criminality.

    That would get my vote
  • Lucky guess guys!!!

Suprisingly, I got a reply to my PM's, and it was in a very short space of time between writing this thread. He has now sent it to me, and it should be here tomorrow! So it appears he does always manage to come up with the goods, just after a little bit of hassle.

I think he is getting past his sell-by date to be honest!
