Howdie,

We're thinking of a trip up to the Peaks this weekend to ride the Hope valley. Can any of you locals give us the lowdown on the conditions? I've heard its still a bit icy up there :?:

    I talk to him everyday....
  • Everything around there will be very water logged, it was before all the snow so it will probably be a lot worse now.

The snake is still closed but will probably be open for the weekend if the weather stays like this.

I might get over that way on Thursday for a quick blast so if I do I'll let you know

If the snow that's due on Weds actually happens then the Snake pass will still be closed. Its been closed for 2 weeks now

I had a bit of look round on Sunday on the trails were still very icy. A lot of the snow had gone, but where it's started to melt and re-frozen it's unrideable. The latest weather forecast for this week is a bit milder with a lot of rain. I'd expect the majority of the snow and ice to be gone by the weekend, but expect it the ground to be very, very wet.
  • Cheers for the heads up guys. I reckon we might go ahead with it. Wherever we ride its gonna be a slog this weekend so might aswell embrace it fully and head for the Peaks
  • It was very wet yesterday with 4 foot deep snow drifts in places. Expect quite a lot of walking.
