Look in the direction you wish to travel.
e.g if a 180deg hairpin, look towards the exit as early as possible.Salsa Spearfish 29er

To go left, turn the handlebars to the left. To go right, turn them to the right.

Fast corners just countersteer and stuff it in. Decent tyres will let you know when they're on the limit*

Theres a video about this somewhere on here isn't there, some may assume it's in the video section - i have no idea, that may be just what they want us to think...
Anyway, I found that helpful.Cube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0 -
there a few videos on here about cornering and berms have a gander at them and then its practice, practice, practice and a bit more practice.
Each tyre and rider is slightly different so the details might be a bit different but the basics are always the same.
eg I find with Maxiss high rollers they only give loads of grip when fully lent over onto the side knobs so with these tyres its about being aggressive and committed other tyres might be different.0 -
maxxis tyres generally need to be leant right in to get maximum grip on corners because they don't have many knobs inbetween the centre and edge0

From watching the DirtSchool DVD that came with MBUK a while ago, try and open up the turn as much as possible, i.e if theres a bank on the outside, use it to widen the turn and keep speed through.
Definately look at the exit, 2 most important points of the turn: Entry and Exit. Look at them, you go where you are looking.0 -
