Which Shoes

I've just ordered a new bike along with some eggbeater peddles, but have no idea of which shoes to go for.
The shop where I've ordered my bike has recommended the Lake MX140 Shoes.
Any thoughts on these shoes or can anyone recomend any other shoes?
Ideally I am after a shoe that good all year round. Something that gives me some waterproof protection but isn't too hot during the summer.
Thanks in advance.

sealskins and overshoes are great hey!!! my overshoes are getting a little beaten up around the toes now lol!
if yo ugo for shimano shoes they tend to be a bit on the tight side so advisable to go a size up if you can, a lot of people speak Very highly of the Spechialized bg shoes,Timmo.

shimano mp66w- not too cold in winter and roomy enough to get waterproof socks in. not too hot in summer (not up the standard of race shoes, but alright) and 'kick through a brick wall' solid. cheap too. Only major downside as far as I'm concerned is they've got a fair bit of heft.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0
