1) Some cheap but not shocking hydro discs for my Carrera Vulcan 08
2) Some lightweight tyres for the same bike
Cheers

Is that £120 for front and back or £120 each ie £240 for full set?0 -
Avid Elixir 5 brakes £124.83 for front and rear from here:http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-disc-brakes/avid-disc-brakes/avid-elixir-5-disc-brakes-f-r-set.html
Tyres, look at Kenda Nevegal,Maxxis High Rollers or similar.2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
2017 Canondale Supersix Evo0 -
tyres either schwalbe Nobby nics or kevlar High rollers (I use one of each, nic on the front, but take your pick, they're both great)
brakes as said elixir are getting all the good press atm, just caught a pair of the CR carbons for 200 last weekend, which I was pretty happy with. currently awaiting delivery..... GAHHHHH!Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer

then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it

I've just stuck some Avid Juicy 3's on the front of my Carrera, cheap and cheerful but my god are they better than V's. Dont spend massive amounts on the vulcan and save up for a pricier bike mate.0

Yeah - heard Juicy 3s are good - thinkin of them
I'm going to get increasingly better parts on the Vulcan ie overspec it and then buy a decent fram last of all0 -

Really... have heard that Juicy 3s are quite good ;-)Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.

I just got a pair of Elixir 5's for my Kona, I'd definately recommend them. As for tyres the High Rollers and Nevegals are very good but it sounds like you want something a little less heavy duty. I'd go for either Maxxis Ignitors or Crossmarks, depending on the conditions you're riding in.0

Juciy 3s aren't worth the money IMO, unless you get them really cheap. They're not as bad as some people say but they're not great.
Now, £85 for a pair of Julies including discs, I'd have that.Uncompromising extremist0 -

direct ! i like it
yeah , i'd stretch to the elixir 5's or similar if u can afford it
especially if your gonna do frame upgrade later and wanna swop over quality components. you'll only end up buying twice otherwise.

i wouldn't buy magura julies, they're a lot more wank than juicy 3's from my experience with magura brakes. utterly shocking.0
