Which wheels to choose? (AM)

Looking at either ex 5.1s on hope 2 or dt swiss hubs or a set of 2010 bonty rythm elites both set up tubelss. Which would be the better choice in terms of strength and weight? Riding a bit of everything from glentress blue to easier innerleithen stuff/ portes du soliel/ mega avalanche.
Not that hard on bikes, managed to rag a fuel ex in les get / morzine without issue.
Will be buying ebay new or second hand with a budget of £175

I have 5.1s on Pro2s (Hope Hoops) and am happy with them, although I'd probably get stan's flows if I ordered them again now, just for the tubeless compatibility. they're a little under 2kg (1850 iirc)
Quality budget alternative xt hubs instead which you'll get from Merlin for <175 I'm sureEverything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0 -
The Rhythm Elites are a bit flexy, but otherwise pretty good (the hubs are DT Swiss). I recently chose Stan's Flow laced to Pro II hubs for my Fuel Ex, with the Rhythm Elite being a serious contender.
One bonus for Hope is that the hubs are convertible for different axles.0 -
the 2010 rythems actually have formula hubs, not dt swiss, imo you cant go wrong with a set of pro 2's, altho if you up ur budget alittle you could get some satns rims on the new no tubes hubs0

Hopes always sound nice, well made, often last really well with loads of spares available. The 5.1 rims are tougher than the 4.1's. I like those wheels....jedster wrote:Just off to contemplate my own mortality and inevitable descent into decrepedness.
