Bjarne is not pleased that some members of the press think he'll not be able to get a new sponsor to take over from Saxo.

Some have suggested he'll lose the will to fight to try and get the kind of money needed to support the team.

  • Thought they had secured Sunguard for next year. Big IT company from the states.

They've got Sungard but they're only a small sponsor for this year. Maybe next year too but they're not the title sponsor.

I'd love Lego to sponsor the team. Maybe not to provide the bikes.

Riis is not a tour winner any more. He gave his jersey back prior to the start of last year's event.

Why is this important? Because Cyclingnews keeps on calling him "the 1996 tour winner".

There's an article by Susan Westergard re: his comments on Lance where she makes this error.

    It's not a small point.

No one calls Landis a Tour winner.

All this symbolism. Riis won the 96 Tour. It's not even possible to strip him of his win if you wanted to. ASO might have put a symbolic * instead of his name but he is the winner.

Riis was written back into the ledger of winners in 2008. FWIW, Ullrich was second and Virenque third in 1996.

Is it too much to hope that 4th place may have been taken by someone with just a little bit of credibility?

Hmmm, Dufaux. Apparently it was too much to hope.

Ignore the above, I'm getting my drug-cheats muddled up. It was Brochard with the mullet.

Wasn't cycling far more fun to follow when you could believe?
