Leftfield choice - Glasgow based purveyors of "doom-wop" Jacob Yates & the Pearly Gate Lock Pickers who've just released their debut album "Luck" which is rather good.

If anyone likes slightly obscure surf/roackabilly stuff have a listen to "lemonade"

Other than that, Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense Has been fighting it out with Reggae chartbusters vol. 1&2 (motorway purchase) in the car for the last few weeks!

  • No necessarily new out but been listening to these a lot lately:

Little Barrie - King of the waves
Band of Horses - Infinite Arms
Seasick Steve - You can't teach an old dog new tricks
Chase and Status - No more idols

Also agree that the new Foo Fighters album is great and looking forward to the new RHCP album after hearing one of the new tracks on the radio the other day.

Not heard of Little Barrie, what type of music?
Band of horses, is this loud shouty metal music? i recognise the name.
seasick steve i can give or take TBH.
Chase and status is good though.

I like that you have a good cross section

Life would be boring liking just one type of music!

Little Barrie is loosely classed as pop but I'm not sure I agree. If you watched sirens on channel 4 they did the theme tune.

Band of Horses isn't shouty, quite the opposite really. Their track Funeral was used by Danny Mac on one of his videos.

Both are on We7 if you fancy a listen.
