commencal 5.5 advise

hi, could do with a bit of advise,

i have been blessed with a commencal meta 5.5 frame but is comes with no shock,
I have a set of pike coils and a monarch 2.1 and have checked that the rear shock fits already.

im just wanting advise on if this set up has been done before and if it works, or am i kidding myself and should save for a while and get a tuned rear shock(would prefer to spend the cash on a new coat)

any advise welcome,
my budget is tiny no silly comments about real wallet emptying stuff.
