Hi Just got my fixed/ss today, came set up to SS which i dont mind for the moment, but there is an issue with the rotation.... it seems to catch and is stiff, its really strange and i cant work out what it is...

the chain line looks perfect to me, although when looking really closely the chain seems to move ever so slightly on the chainring, spinning the pedals they catch at the same point every time....

Any help much appreciated

Cheers

Possible chain too tight, (only a guess).

Not all sprockets or chain rings are completely concentric / constant radius and can therefore cause the chain to go tight at certain points of rotation.

Or maybe a duff chain, less likely though.
  • Is your rear wheel in straight?
  • had a little fiddle with it and it appears the chain was way too tight. slackened it off and everything moves smoothly. May get some chain tugs to make it a bit easier to set up.

cant wait to get out on it, was nice to mess around with setting the wheel, its a bit fiddly trying to get it straight but after the first 2 attempts its been smooth and everything tight and ready to be ridden, just need the weather to improve and then i can go break it in properly :D
