Can anyone give me a route fron calais\boulogne to Gerarrdsbergen in Belgium. Looking to go over for the Tour of Flanders Sportive in April, don't have a car so have to cycle.

Did this one last year: http://www.bikeradar.com/routes/?bpath= ... ardsbergen - a good route, all I remember is that it was flat until the last 20/30K's when you hit a few of the bergs. I would do it this year but it falls on the Easter weekend.[/url]

thanks for that exactly what I am looking for. Where did you stay? Was it b|&b or camping?

I stayed at the Hotel Grupello: http://www.vijverhof-geraardsbergen.be/ - great place, the breakfast alone was worth the price.

If you are going to follow the route I'd leave Calais as early as possible. I left around midday and arrived as the sun was setting. I was originally going to start from Dunkirk but Norfolk Ferries wouldn't allow me to buy a ticket at the desk for the next ferry - even though it wasn't going to leave for another hour or so. P&O were more obliging.

If I did it again I'd go from Dunkirk as it cuts over an hour (maybe two) off the journey time and avoids Calais, which at the time was crawling with dodgy looking characters picking things out of the canal and generally hanging around doing nothing constructive!
