Bromsgrove / Lckey Hills Routes - beginer upwards !
Hi Guys,
Just trying to find some routes local to us (we have recently moved to Bromsgrove)
I haven't riden for a few years, but after riding Cannock a few weeks back have got into it again, and have just got myself a new bike.
The misses, who comes from a road cycling family, mentioned this fact to her parents and got brought a bike for xmas ! she is keen to ride it (we have swopped it for a mountain bike now!) but hasn't done a huge amount of off road - she does snowboard / isnt a girly girl so dont think she will have any major issues
was just wondering if anyone could recommend any routes locally - the end goal is to get her to cannock, but for now to get her used to it / get her confidence up i was thinking about doing stuff a bit closer to home - it would also be nice to know that could go for a quick blast their too !
thanks

at the carpark most of the trails start, they're not waymarked or anything so best get an OS map or a guide (there's a midlands mtb forum you could try)
What might be better is just going round the fireroads/double track at Cannock instead?[/url]0 -
thanks for the info - so its pretty muhc a case of snoop around to find the trails then by the looks of things !!!0

Did anyone manage to find any decent routes around Bromsgrove?
I've been to the Lickey Hills before, haven't tried the Clent Hills yet.
I live and Bromsgrove and got a hardtail mtb, like anything from bridleways to pretty rough stuff.
It's getting warmer now, time to get the bike out!

If anyone can upload a multi map extract that would be appreciated, I'm from Lancashire but spend nearly all week at Marlbrook near Bromsgrove due to working away. Or if anyone local wants to meet up after work to give me a tour that would be appreciated, I'm not a whippet but have a medium level of fitness! Just need some local knowledge!0

The canal towpath from Hopwood to Worcester makes for a decent ride. Some off road sections linking the tunnels are good, as is a blast down the Tardebigge locks (longest flight in uk).0

I've done part of the canal route, from Tardebigge to Bromsgrove (Stoke Prior - Hanbury Road). Tardebigge is just outside Bromsgrove, near the A448 Brosmgrove to Reddich highway.
Really enjoyed it, nice relaxing ride.
The queens head is a nice pub next to the canal, in Stoke Pound just before you come to Stoke Prior. There is another nice pub further up the canal.
Also been to the Lickey Hills which are very close to Marlbrook, its a very wooded area. If you get to the highest point, you have great views over Birmingham and the old Rover factory site. The route down from there is quite nice, but you have to watch out for walkers.
I would be up for a bike ride one evening, I live in Bromsgrove.
