Which section refers to me?
At 64 years and riding a cheap hybrid mainly, but not entirely off road for exercise and enjoyment; Road, Mountain Biking and Commuting doesn't really cover me.
Riding roughly 1000 miles a year (without stabilizers) should mean I am past the beginner stage and I cycle alone so the family is out.
(Bet you have now guessed why I sign as Bolshiebob)
I also have a small dilemma in deciding on my next bike as my hybrid is a little heavy for fast road riding but a road bike wouldn't last 5 minutes on some of the tracks I use.

What is your budget?
Hybrids cover a lot of bikes from basically more upright, flat bar road bikes to MTBs with narrower tyres.0
