Hi, I'm considering buying one of these cases to mount my phone on the bars as I'm using it to run Viewranger on, has anyone got any experience of them? And do they know if they enable to use of the touch screen still?

I got one of these for Christmas for my N95 8GB.. does the job pretty well!

What phone have you got? My girlfriend has a 5800 which has a touchscreen - I can try it with that this evening?

It probably depends on which sort of screen the phone has - capacitive or resistive.. the former may not work as it relies on the conductive properties of your finger which wouldn't be felt through the case..

It's a 5800 which has a resistive screen as far as I'm aware, Viewranger seems to work well with it on the trial so am contemplating getting the full package of that but need/want to mount it safely.
but if you could give it a basic try it'd be brilliant thanks

If I can get it out of the shed I'll give it a go.. the lock was frozen solid when I tried at the weekend!

Don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with the resistive screen though..

Cheers mate, there's no rush though I don't get paid till the end of the month so won't be making any purchases just yet.

I have a 5800 with Viewranger and a Boxit case, and can safely say that the touch-screen works well through it :)

Just bear in mind that the 5800's quite wide, and can be difficult to retrieve from the boxit case  I've found that gentle squeezing beneath the 'phone whilst rocking the 'phone with your third-hand is the best way to extract the 'phone from the case!

You'll also not have access to the slide-switch on the side, so you'll have to disable the screen-saver (Viewranger/Options/Phone/Disable Screensaver/Yes)

The Boxit bar-mount is awful though and definitely not worth the £8 it costs. I broke mine the first time I went off-road  You'd be better off using the (included) belt-clip and using velcro to secure it to the stem.

Ah well thats good advice thanks and it saves me £8 too!
Gentle pressure to remove the phone may be my downfall though lol!
