Hi All,
A mate of mine had a Deore XT he didn`t want anymore, so i thought i would help him out and take it off his hands.....like you do
Anyhow went to fit it to my Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 09 and it doesn`t fit right, the cable is at a very strange angle, can not set the derailleur at the correct height on the biggest chainring teeth because the inner plate hits agianst the middle chainring!
Has anyone fitted one to a hardrock before?

sounds like you have either the wrong version or you need to read the manual for setting it up (or Parktools)
the wire does not look too odd."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cheers Nick
Think the cold was affecting me!, working out in the cold porch too long
Got it working now, and yeah the cable just looked a bit weird bit not catching on anything, so all good
Cheers,
