Don't just go by the look of the thing or the name. Go and look at some and if you can, try before you buy. And of course if your desired size fits a particular bike, all the better.
  • I am going oneverything tbh, however I want to narrow things down a little so I can try and go and ride maybe 2 of the 5.

I really want to hear off people that own these bikes to let me know if they are good, bad, etc.

I am 6.1", 33 inside leg and want the bike for mainly 50+ miles per day, however want something I can also race from time to time.

Not heard a bad word about them. They're all good bikes, if they fit. It's really that simple...

You are going about it well.
I'd say that narrowing down to two bikes, prior to testing is good.
I went to Epic Cycles for mine. I rode three bikes, and because of the lovely undulating surrounding area, I was absolutely fcuked at the end.
Two would have been better, IMHO.
As giant mancp syays, Be sure the bike fits.
But, IMHO, the bike has to be appealling to you, or your less likely to use it so much.

By the way, I hope your sig is with reference to your surname and not a 3rd rate footy team

  • Hopper thanks for the info.

What did you go for in the end ?
Have you ridden any of the bikes above ?

Was at my LBS on saturday as I have mine down to the wilier and the pinarello. Pinarello wipes the floor on looks but its better kitted too. My LBS said that the Pinarello would be good for 100 mile+ sportives, training and racing but I supose at this price point thats to be expected.

Down to personal choice I suppose.

I rode a Bianchi C2C, closest to anything from your list. One demo bike had Ultegra, two had Athena. I didn't like the Campag thumb shifter, I find it difficult (read impossible) changing down, when on the drops. I had a brief ride of a SRAM kitted bike on the turbo in the shop, frame was too big to demo, but I could test the SRAM. The SRAM won it for me, comfy hoods, and easy to hand gear levers, wherever your hands are.
I chose the Cinelli Willin' frameset and had it built up as per the photo (link) in my signature.

    +1 for the SRAM.

I also went to Epic Cycles to get my bike (Orbea Orca). I tried one with Ultegra (which all my previous bikes have had) and one with SRAM Force. Absolutely loved the force groupset. Lighter than the Ultegra and great shifting system.

Well if it doesn't fit you, it's not going be used so much either eh?
