Am I missing something (apart from brain cells)?

Never having used one of these headsets before, should there be a race between the plastic wedge collar and the bearing face in the headset?

    what is the yellow bit?

what have you got on top of the fork?

need to see all the bits you have not just some of them.

I'll go and have a look, you're far more clued up than I. I was selling this frame anyway, up until I realised that, if I bought the Inbred frame, my forks may be too short.

My steerer is 185mm and the Inbred has a headtube of 105mm (not big, I know), which would mean that I would have to find a headset with a very low stack height. Grrr!

  • Nope, it definitely goes this way. The compression ring won't fit at all if it's the other way around, Super.

Did you get an instruction sheet? I am not sure what parts this one comws with.

    I'd check the Ritchey website.
  • No, I didn't get any instructions as it was already fitted with the frame (from Merlin). The frame is new and unused, and I know that I haven't lost any of the parts. I checked with one of the guys on here (CraigXL) who also has the same frame, and he said that's all he got and it works fine.

I'm thinking of selling the frame (should be getting the Inbred soon with Christmas money), so I want to ensure that, if/when I do sell, nothing is missing. Just got to find a low stack headset now for the Inbred, which shouldn't be too much of a problem, then I will be able to put my Rebas on that frame.

    Hey Johnny,
This is what it says on the Ritchey site
Ritchey Logic Comp 1-1/8" Threadless Black HS
•Smaller semi-cartridge upper bearing to save weight ( I suppose that means just the nylon bearing surface sans balls)
•Oversize semi-cartridge lower bearing to handle loads
    •Cro/mo cups for solid insertion
