Campag Centaur???

Looking at a Pinarello FP3 with campag centaur. What would the equivalent shimano groupset be??????

Is Ultegra the equivalent? Is campag classed as more high end groupset?

Ultegra, as price range.

That said, comparisons between different brands are meaningless. I have Centaur UT 2008 and I find it a good groupset

Campag will always be more high end than Shimano....gangway before I get flamed :roll: :shock:

The Pinarello is an Italian frame (Sorry meant is sold by an Italian company as I think they are actually made in the far east), purists will always claim that Campag should be fitted to an Italian bike, I agree as it happens. :roll:

The hierarchy of Campagnolo groupsets doesn't really correspond with Shimano - Campagnolo only concentrate on the top-end market - Centaur is only 5th in their line-up and probably sits somewhere between Ultegra and 105.

Centaur 'looks' classier and more expensive than Ultegra or Ultegra SL, 105 etc

Chorus is how Centaur used to be. The chain rings, cassette and front mech are the biggest Centaur downgrade since 08. The levers are much the same as Chorus and even Record except 10 not 11 s. Brakes seem to be the same as Chorus. I was always told Ultegra and Centaur were on a par before 11s arrived.
