Anyone seen these videos? Look at his plump smug face as he bombs past a couple of supervets on the climbs :x

He'd get dropped like he was hot, if he went out on a normal bike.

    He's a right little porker!

he's shown only while he's overtaking on the up hill sections, I'll bet they all got their revenge on the down hill and flat sections.

I like the fact that even with a motor he's only just pulling away from them.
And what a dick, with a stupid smug grin spread all over his face the whole time.

hes quite old, 60 or 70. i think he did well over that distance. good advertising as well for the e bike, he may have been paid. if he didnt get in the way i dont really see a problem. handy bike for commuting a long way.
  • dont get why you're all so enraged by this- i think its quite funny - a little fat man cruising up the climbs - there's ever one or two incredulous looks as he goes past people suffering

No hatred here; merely two observations.

They aint exactly lightweight motors, them. Kind of defeats the purpose of using a bike imo if you're on a short, flat ride. I suppose I could inderstand if you hade some kind of disability or condition, but if your a fit and normal human being why wuss-out? :)

Did you see the Gadget Show item where they had one of their presenters, on an assisted Cannondale, up against Rob Downing? The presenter got nowhere near Downing. I suspect that the guy in this video got nowhere near the top riders on the uphill sections.

This is just what the 70+yr olds need on ctc club rides. I can think of several people who could keep up if they had a shove up the hills. It is the risk of a flat battery that has always put me off the idea, but this guy seems to have it sorted. Or did he have a backup team with spare batteries, I wonder.

Good for him. If I need a little assist to still be able to get out there and be active when I reach his age then so be it. Better than him sitting at home watching TV all day.
