Road Routes in Murcia

I'm heading off to Murcia in Spain with a group of friends in April. We're looking to get in a fair bit of road cycling and I've foolishly agreed to plot some routes.

Can anyone help with:

- some recommended routes
- advice on good towns to visit
- advice on roads / towns etc to avoid

Any thoughts, advice, guidance appreciated.

Cheers :D

    Where exactly are you staying?

The Murcia region is very popular with cyclists. The roads in and around the Sierra Espuna regional park are amazing. There is a top climb - La Santa I think I think it is called - that goes across the park. You get to it through Totana.

Nice riding in the mountains NE of Murcia too - look out for the Cabeza De La Plata climb that heads over to Succina.

    Hi there.

Thanks for the advice. Will have a play with Map My Ride later.

We're staying at a place called Mosa Trajectum Golf Resort. None of us are glofers though.

You are not that far from the Cresta del Gallo climb which was used in this year's Vuelta. There are plenty of nice roads around the area where you will be staying.
