I'm goin to get a new bike in the next few days as mine is pretty much on it's last leggs. I'm goin to get a full ridgid hardtail but I can't decide to get ither 24" or 26" wheels. I realy would aprecate some help. I've never used 24" wheels before are they that much diffrent.

Would help to know what it's going to be used for.0

If you are doing anything other thn riding on roads or doing trials, I seriously recommend 26" or even 29". Remember that the bigger the wheel, the less teeth you will loose over the rough stuff0

Sorry I'm only ever going to use it for park riding0

why is this thread in here and not general??
why don't you do yourself a favour and do that simple thing called research?? that would be far too simple wouldn't it, small thing called logic0 -
I put it here because more people seam to reply and what research?? I know what bike I want I'm asking for peoples opinions on the two sizes as I've never Used 24"wheels.0

Find a bike with 24" wheels and give it a try. Only you can decide if you want them or not.It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

24" wheels should make the bike handle more sharply and be slightly easier to move about in the air. 26" wheels will roll faster.
You could always go for one of each.0 -
This should be in the buying advice section. 29ers have more control and stability than 26ers according to some unbreakable rule.....0

Thank you that's the sort of answer I was looking for. Thank you.0

24's roll considerably slower than 26's from my experience, doesnt make much difference when playing round town but if you cover any road miles your mates on 26's will be pulling away. (only having 9 gears doesnt help either!)http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12613038Cat With No Tail wrote:Anyway, fk dis, I iz off 4 a ride innit. l8rz peepz0

Have some useful advice. I've owned two 24" park bikes and a 26" park bike.
In tight parks, the 24" bikes did make more sense, but they're deeply unfashionable, tend to be very BMXy these days and are very focussed on what they're good at, at the expense of really being mountainbikes.
Have a ride on some different bikes before you make your choice. I will however say this: Do not put 24" wheels on a 26" frame. It'll ride like crap. Don't do it.0 -

I have a massive dick ? Why thank you 8)
If your going to ask for actual biking buying advice, the crudcatcher isnt going to be the best place to ask ... Hence why there is a section called "Buying Advice", I know i know it sounds strange and these people with their intrawebs making actual sections for specific things maybe confusing ... But thats how it works0
