just got a new bike and wondering in how long will it need sevice :?: :?:

    impossible to say but the figure is 4 weeks that bike places give when you get a bike, but can depend on cable wear, brake wear etc.

    Generally a month or so is about right. If you ride a lot, then say about a month. If you don't ride that much, then maybe even three months. You need the cables to stretch and bed in, thats all the first service should be.

    6 weeks was the advice and service offered by my LBS when I bought a bike from them last year.

    What bike have you bought?

    I would leave it until your gear shifting gets a bit sluggish and then take it in otherwise it might just sit in the corner of a workshop for a day or 2 and not have owt done to it.

    Depends how long it takes you till you do something stupid on it. Or if you're sensible, about 6 weeks.
