well im rather bored and have a little bit of money to spend on somethin fun, rather than buy booze, so how about a cheap bike challenge/ride/quest thing.

basically buy a bike or BSO for a small sum say less than 50 quid, we all meet up on our "bikes" and laugh at our contraptions and have a general decent ride.

any takers???

they do this budget challenge on top gear all the time , usually its a right hoot.
as a bike tart though , i'd blow the whole budget just on pedals. :D

I reckon our British Eagle (which still works fine) is worth around £50.

The new rack and panniers more than double it's value :lol:

I say a trial park somewhere. Something that isn't too harsh but would still be fun on a hack bike.

I'm in if I can bring this or something similar:

I'd be keeping the stabilisers on though....

It's got to be kid's mini bikes

Are we allowed bikes valued at less than £80 - that we already own - such as bigbenj_08's Saracen?

After a bloody hard time on a Wales weekend...i tried to get my work colleagues to do the same...almost.

The suggestion was to get the old classics.....Chipper, Chopper, Grifter, Classic Road racers, BMX, Racing bike with huge cow horns..painted Matt Black and all components mis-matching....and see if we could get them from A to B......across an off-road route.

For no other reason apart for the challenge. Having said that...we were also looking at the Merida in Wales as that would be a challenge...and soon realised there were challenges and there are CHALLENGES. We know our limits ;)

I like the fun aspect of doing something....but if it could be done for charity....now there's an idea!

My idea wasn't from NOB G£AR. I'm years ahead of them, as are many.

Now, if they had to be £10 max or £30 including spares/repair then we're talking

here's an idea, why not make it even more top gear'ish by having some set challenges that we wont know the details of on the day. you could also have everyone bring some money say £20, in case there is a go away and make you bike better, smarter, stupider type thing
