Removing Miche Freewheel

Earlier today I decided to get my biking fix by going out into the garage to fettle with the bikes.I decided that I wanted to remove my Miche Freewheel which is for campag because I want to put a Shimano cluster on instead. Well having removed everything I inserted the alan key to unscrew it and it would not budge. I was trying to undo it clockwise so was that the correct way and if it is can anyone tell me how to get it to budge.

    undo it anticlockwise (looking at the wheel from the drive side)

    it can take a lot of force to undo, especially if it has been in place for a long time

    to get extra leverage, put a piece of pipe on the end of the allen key, make sure you've got the wheel well braced and give it some welly
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
