Hi there (Sorry me again)

Carbon Aero Wheels - FFWD F5R vs Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL Premium does anyone have any first hand experience of either or both and can comment upon which represents the best value for money or rather if you had the choice of these - which would you have?

Many thanks,

Dru

I have a set of the Mavics....Top wheels, make an awesome sound and paired with some open corsa 320tpis are fast and smooth.

I'd agree. The Mavics are great. I've not heard great things about the FFwd wheels but this is only from what I've read. I've had a couple of sets of the Mavics and still have some SLRs and they are all fantastic wheels. Not always the lightest but they feel very fast and ride well.

Depends what you want them for. If it's for racing, then I would go with the lightest wheels you can afford.

If not, you probably won't want tubs which would rule out the F5R's.

F5Rs come are only tubs, but the F4 and F6 wheels are clinchers. Pretty similar. Just REALLY heavy.

Really!? Don't think I'd agree with that at all. So many more factors such as aerodynamics, stiffness, ride quality, ease of repair after crashes etc.
