I've been getting knee pain for the last few weeks and I'm wondering if anybody can shed any light on what might be the problem before having to take time off work for the doctor.
As a bit of background, I have in the past damaged the ligaments between my upper knee-cap and my thigh on the front. Since then I haven't had tooooo many problems.
But recently I bought a new road bike and due to (now) obvious poor setup I have hurt myself. I've managed to recover most of the pain but I'm getting pain through the fleshy bit between my knee cap knobble and my inside bone knobble. I'm also getting pain from my old ligaments..
I've changed my setup completly and laid off for 3 weeks but using a different bike yesterday it was still hurting.
Any bright ideas?

an ACL problem...????
LMAO based on wot....
Most likely Vegeeta you've got some scar tissue around the injured ligament from original injury. Scar tissue is never quite the same as the original tissue and has a tendency to be stiff and may become adherent to adjacent structures. You say its previously not been that much of a problem, it may be that saddle/cleat position is stressing it. Its often your best guess without actually seeing someone in person but thats most likely. Theres stacks of info online bout bike setup, and if its not quickly resolved go an see a chartered physiotherapist, preferably one who specialises in sport, theyl be able to diagnose you accurately, and if required break down scar tissue restoring mobility and improving functionCouple of 5 spots, a hummer and a handjob.....0 -
