Spoke tension on disc wheels

I know this may sound like a daft question but has anyone had spoke tension issues on a Giant XTC Alliance 1
The rims are Mavic XM117 with shimano M535 hubs.

I've only really started riding it in anger this winter and noticed yesterday that all the spokes on both wheels seem to be at much lower tension (squeezing by hand) than any of my rim brake type wheels fitted to other bikes.

Question is, is there any reason why disc wheels should have lower tension than traditional rim brake wheels.

If not then do you think I would be OK to give all the spokes a 1/4 turn to tighten up?

well 1/4 turn may or may not be what is needed.

I guess these are the originals?

get them to a bike shop that builds wheels so they can sort them out.

Sounds about normal on mass produced machine built wheels. As nick says, get someone to have a look.

Thanks for the advice, I guess the LBS it is then.

For info, they are the original wheels and to be honest it's the first time I've squeezed the spokes to check for loose ones.
Was a bit surprised when they all felt loose :?
It's my first bike with disc hubs so wasn't certain if it was the norm.

not the norm building a rim braked wheel and a disc wheel is the same (with a few exceptions).
