I still have last years Halfords letter of collection for £1000 which never used, and wondered if I got another one from work this year, could they be added together.
Has anybody been able to combine them to get a single bike with both collection letters from two years?
Thoughts please........

Mick,
I would say you couldn't. They are set at £1000 for a reason - so that the company doesnt have to apply for a consumer credit licence.
Although there is nothing stopping you getting your partner to "gift" their voucher to you and combine the two that way.......although that is in no way advice to go and do so...0 -
Check your old voucher - it may have an expiry date on the back if yours is the same as mine. Sorry I cannot tell how long it was valid for, I used it over Christmas for a Team Carbon (not Ltd. Edition)!!0

I believe each voucher is supposed to be for the purchase of a bike, therefore you would probably have to place 2 independent orders.
This is the why Cyclescheme works anyway.0 -
Probably not allowed under the C2W scheme but ask the retailer, they want the money.Audio, Video, Disco

Some bike shops are willing to let you bend the rules a bit. Perhaps you could persuade them to get you wheels and a frameset under different tokens.Racing for Fluid Fin Race Team in 2012 - www.fluidfin.co.uk0

Have you not paid for last years? With Cyclescheme they start deductions regardless of whether the bike is collected.
I reckon Halfords probably won't do what you are proposing, but quite a few other shops will take Halfords vouchers and may be much more flexible - it isn't really for the shops to police the scheme so they have no risk.0 -
If you contact Halfords they will re-issue your voucher with a new expiry date on it. I think the Halfords expiry tends to be 4 months after the voucher is originally issued but there shouldn't be a problem re-issuing expired vouchers.
Good suggestion on the combining! I never even thought of that for future years... (I know a non-Halfords bike shop which takes Halfords vouchers so it may work...)0 -
I have had my vouchers re-issued once already, no problem there.
I just wonder if I wait another 3 months, obtain another £1000 voucher and then ask Halfords to combien.
I still would be within the £1000 credit limit with company, so should be o.k.0 -
You are legally not allowed as i spoke to c2w and they say tht the agreement for a max of a 1000 is there just for tht so one person can only have a thousand pounds and no more unless you add your own money on top which halfords have no prob in letting you doing.
C2W say that at the end of the day although you have no end date as such to use your voucher in the voucher is not to credit you with a 1000 to spend "on your hobby" but to do what it says get you to work.
SO bottom line mate is you got 1000 to find a bike a thts all you get from them so if you want a higher rised bike i would start saving money towards it and add it to the 1000G.H.Allum0 -
Btw i say you have no expirey date as such but you do indeed as priorly pointed out have to reniew it via halfords but i believe they will only do this a couple of times. and no you cannot even use a "partners" vouchers the vouchers issued ar efor each person individually not collectivly sorry guys!!G.H.Allum0

This isn't the experience I've had with Halfords in fact they're very much opposed to you adding your own money to the bike purchase because of the credit legislation. (I had a £750 voucher last year, the bike I was after was £775 and I was told "no chance" by Halfords C2W team as it wasn't within my voucher amount).
Was this a particular store that told you you could add additional money to your voucher?0 -
I have also been refused to add money to vouchers value.
But if you keep your voucher for a year and then get another one the following year and add together, you can get a higher value bike..0
