One of my my new years resolution is to cycle between 2500 and 3000 miles this year, the only prob is I dont have a cycle computer

Can anyone suggested ones which would suit my modded rockerhopper bike which I plan to start using to commute to work.

Don't want to spend alot of money as I already have a pretty decent sports watch which tells me alot of what I need to know. Just want something which will do speed and miles completed

Thanks
Matt

The cheaper Tesco one was fine for me until I took it off as my numbers just weren't getting better and I don't need another thing to look at ;) - £6-7 maybe, assuming they still have it?

Tesco also do a 17 function one for just under £15 (think it's this one but it doesn't look like the one in the image). Got one last week but I haven't installed it or tested it out yet.

    thanks guys

I don't mind spending a bit more maybe £20-30 if I going to get something which is a bit better

have no idea about cycle computers so what should I look out for?

If you are going for that amount, then a cateye strada wireless is pretty good.
It's what I use. Costs just over £30, but I find it does exactly what I need - speed, distance, elapsed time, total miles, trip miles, etc. Good basic one from cateye.

Next level up gives all sorts of other stuff like cadence, calories and the like... not needed as far as I am concerned.

  • Personally I have this one:

Not wireless, but I think wireless ones can have a few troubles with powerful lights/bluetooth/sun-spots/etc. VDO make the instrument clusters for Mercedes cars, don't y'know. Highly recommended, if you just want something simple and reliable.
