  • I'm a united fan and I hate to say it but well done Leeds.
United got exactly what they deserved from the game......nowt.
  • I originally come from Leeds so I have to keep an eye on them. The last few minutes were absolute torture - at one stage I counted 7 Man U players in the Leeds box so it wasn't as if they weren't trying - and Man U have a bit of a knack of settling difficult games in the 95th minute. I'd forgotten how stressful games can sometimes be!

    Well done Leeds. Exceptional!

Slightly worrying afterthought: how long before a Premier team snaps up Beckford?
  • The red empire is crumbling - only a matter of time and that's before Weds night.

  • Don't like Leeds, but hate scumchester and they got what they deserved for showing disrespect for both the trophy and their opponents by putting a weakened side out.

I hate Man utd, I hate Man utd.

    Good riddance to overpaid sh1t

I'm sure under the tv rights AF should be obliged to speak to the tv but he never showed his mardy arsed face. Hope they sue him or fine him or something along those lines.

The above post may contain traces of sarcasm or/and bullsh*t.
  • Meh - no interest since my lot went out ages ago.

Does that mean that Leeds can just be called 'United' now by the TV pundits and everyone know who they're talking about.

So will Manchester United now be invited to explain to the FA why they played a weakened side against Leeds United at Old Trafford in the same way that Wolves were asked to explain their team selection for their game v Manchester United earlier in the season?

    No, I didn't think so........

Mick McCarthy shouldn't have been asked either. Ultimately, only the manager can be the judge of what is his "strongest" line-up for any given match.

I'm a Man Utd. fan and his plan back fired, we were over-run in mid-field from the start.

That Beckford kid is all right ain't he, wonder where he'll end up? I reckon mid-table'ish Premier League Club or maybe Newcastle.

Just hope we do a little better against City on Wednesday.

The whole "weakened" side argument is a waste of time, so long as a manager fields a team made up of players from their squad and there's nothing wrong with picking and choosing who you play when and where, Wenger does it all the time, Benitez does it, infact pretty much every top flight manager does it, it's the "beauty" of having a large squad.

Chelsea were famous for it when the tinker man was in charge,

Ferguson has described the addition of only 5 minutes as "an insult to the game and the players out there".

He brings the reaction of the OP and those like it on himself. In my view his overall unsporting attitude detracts from what should be a record of achievemnet that puts him amongst the great UK managers.

Still what do you expect - he used to play for Rangers.

    Indeed...

Reverse the scoreline and venue and AF would have settled for 5 mins (or less) added on.

    Silly s0d.

A mid-table Premier club is exactly where I expected him to go. There have been rumours linking him with Villa, apparently. But he'd probably be most useful at Fulham or even Birmingham City: they're both well-organised teams that lack a bit of bite. I hadn't thought of Newcastle.

With luck, though, considering Leeds couldn't be better placed to get promoted, he might want to develop his reputation by playing and staying with a rising team. Getting a bit of Championship experience on the way

4th round isn't very ambitious! Not for a big club like Leeds.

ask any leeds fan what they want this season and you will get 1 answer, you would not have done until sunday, but now there is only 1 priority

  • well done leeds it was a proper old skool cup tie with a proper drop ball and eveything just missed the mud and side burns.looking forward to welcoming dirty leeds back to oakwell next season although a lot of the leeds fans wont have to travel to far seeing that they live in barnsley anyway.

Problem is that Fergie seems to think that it an actual law of the game that if Man Utd are losing you keep playing until they at least get level whereas if they are winning you blow up on the dot of 90 minutes. It was a bit of a shock to him when he discovered that in reality the rules are the same as for everyone else.
