Just a word of warning. Great bikes but I had a bad experience with bikebitsuk when trying to order a Tommasini.

Get yourself a Colnago from Maestro in Bognor Regis. Dont visit the shop with your credit card. Bit like a kid in a sweet shop drool drool0

i bought my frame direct from the tommasini factory in italy. just email barbara from the website and tell her requirements and she'll ask you for your size etc. got mine earlier this month with free delivery. its always worth an ask.0

Thats what I would do if I wanted one. Go direct.0

well, if you are not in a hurry... I think there's a waiting list for Tommasini...
Pay with credit card so that at least your money is safe.
Resist the temptation of mixed material ones and go for a steel Tecno with steel chromed fork... there's no bike as classy as that...
Marroon frame or even black... just stunning
The Campagnolo groupset you can afford, a pair of hand built wheels and you're in businessleft the forum March 20230 -

+ 1 I totally agree, sounds sublime .... but Tecno or Sintesi ..... tough call or easy decision? Difference between them?0 -

I seem to remember Tecno is made with a more recent steel alloy, one that allows for tubes to be drawn thinner... I think it's one of those Nivachrom 747 steels. Probably saves 200 grams or so
So probably Sintesi is the better choice really... more robust...left the forum March 20230 -
Tecno has a lightly larger diameter top tube to the Sintesi - and I want one..!0

I too had a terrible time with ICC - slow, poor communication and I ended up with the wrong paint scheme. In the end, I am still thrilled as its a beautiful handmade frame and rides like a dream. Its also a little different amongst the sea of Colnagos etc.
I suggest you order direct, I found them very helpful.Chip \'oyler wrote:Just a word of warning. Great bikes but I had a bad experience with bikebitsuk when trying to order a Tommasini.

Which model did you get xjm? Piccies?0 -
Hi
I ordered the carbo light, sorry I dont have any pics at hand to post but its light metallic blue (colour code C) with an old design no longer in their brochure. If you have a look at http://tommasini.com/factory.html , second column, second from bottom, there is a red frame with an oversized Tommasini signature instead of their usual block lettering used on their downtubes. Tommasini were very happy to oblige, including matching stem! In fact, I gather they will even do old school 1980's air brushing on request. I also had my name hand painted on the top tube. No extra charge for any of it, other than cost of the stem which was cheaper than buying it online at the time.
