hiya people! just wondered if any one could give me any recommendations on where to stay around dumfries? there will be around 10 of us, all with bikes, and we are looking for the following:1/ a bed. 2/ drying room and secure bike store and bike wash off. 3/ good local food, and more importantly beer, and 4/ preferably we dont want to pay more than 20 quid per night each. Any feedback would be greatfully recieved, we want to ride kirroughtree, ae, and definately mabie! Not gonna do glentress, gonna save that for another weekend, so as near to the latter two would be a bonus, we dont mind driving a bit to kirroughtree. thankyou.

£20 per night is gonna be hard to find, not unless you all bring tents.... here is a link http://www.stay-castledouglas.co.uk/ and don't forget to include Dalbeatie on your list.0

I've heard good things about this place...

yeah, know what you mean about the 20 quid a night thing. was looking at a youth hostel place near kirroughtree but its a trek every day to get to the trails, not a major one but it would be better to be nearer to the majority of the trails we wanna do.0

The bike cleaning and storage makes it tricky, at any price. With the right number of people, the chalets at Conifers work out pretty economic but there's no secure storage and no cleaning. Or a drying room for that matter. Seems a wee bit like you're wanting bottom price and top quality, tbh.Uncompromising extremist0

£14.24 per night with all bases covered Not an unrealistic ask, can get great value in the hostels 8)
You've already seen this one then Si? Just need something similar somewhere between Maibe and Ae!!!
Would be nice to fit Dalbeatie in too but with a mix of experience and fitness, I'm sure 4 stanes in 3 days might be a bit much for some .
Not for the Hardcore though0 -
cheers all for your input, think weve found somewhere that looks ideal, just awaiting confirmation now, found it on 7stanes.com and it ticks all the boxes, and its got a sauna for after ride ache removal! thanks again for all your feedback, much appreciated!0
