Avid Elixir - Levers

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can point out teh simplicity of what I am struggling with and the subsequent shame upon myself!
I have a set of Avid Elixir's and have been struggling with a long travelling rear lever for a month now. The LBS have suggested a contamintad seal and this is being looked at however they have rebled etc. When I got the bike back earlier when I pull the rear brake level there is a very definiate 'click' as though it is stick on a screw or something. The lever 'pin' is circular top and bottom and is moving so I can't see a way of tightening it either.
How do I tighten this??
