Cycle lanes the World over...

So it's not just in Blighty there are issues with cycle lanes: US as well in a unique and typical way.

    Young Hasidic* males being tempted to ride shameful bikes by scantily-clad sirens! Obviously we can't have that.

    (There was meant to be a nude protest cycle over the new year but I think the cold weather rather put a stop to that.)

    *Interestingly, my firefox spell checker doesn't like the word ''Hasidic"" - it suggests ''Aphasic'' or ''handicap'' - and I think it might be right...

    Old news but still interesting. It seems the locals there complained that their customers were initially "scared away" by the virtually naked male cyclists in one online article. Ironic, most of the customers were from outside the hasidic community. :wink: The comments made about parking.

    This was never over a bike lane, this was over a loss of custom down to the global recession and the Hassidic community seemed to blame the cyclists.

    Shock horror, cyclists noticed by other road users! Perhaps the Hassidic community could pass on this skill to other road users.
