Im a bit worried on what size to order too. Im 5ft 8" and i dont know weather to go for the med or lrg? there is a three inch differance between the two sizes.

The difference is 3 cms not 3 inches.
Perhaps acidstrato can help as he's only a couple of inches taller than you?
According to their website they've sold out of small, medium and large sizes until the end of March, that suggests there are many riders out there with S, M and L sizes. Get posting on a few forums, WANTED 5FT 8 INCH RIBBLE GRAN FONDO OWNERS

I'm 5'8 and my bike is a medium. I got measured up at ribble shop and the stem is 100mm/cranks 170.Been test riding the bike and it smooth and stiff on the climbs, the campy centaur is spot on i have to say better than my ultegra on my cannondale.

    frames a bit heavy!!
  • The ribble site photo`s of the bike do not do it any justice.
But WOW that Grand Fondo looks TASTY. 8) I think the red tyres let the LOOK down a little,But they will wear out at some stage and you could then rethink? Well thats if you dont like the red tyres that is.
    Enjoy it. it looks Sweet.8)

  • Alright I'll bite and say it, hairyleg you have a typo in your spec and list the frame at 1200KG. That's where the heavy frame comment comes from.

Just taken delivery of mine, same spec apart from went with white tyres. Have noticed when i stand up to pedal something creaks really badly but not when i sit down and pedal just as hard, anyone else have this problem or is just the nature of the carbon.
Previous bike was a steel ribble, this gran fondo blows it out of the weater, especially with the campag.

Ok. As its an out of the saddle creak i would also check handlebar/ stem interface for tightness if its not the pedals.

How do you find the 53/39 x 12/25 gearing for climbs?
Find your limits...and then exceed them frequently

    Hi all,
Just an update on the performance on the Ribble. Yes it looks nice but how does it race?Well, used it on a triathlon in Oswestry on a very hilly course finished 38th overall out of 166 in the bike leg. Passed a few TT bikes lol :D .Bike performs A1, don't like the wheels they flex to much on the climbs ok on the flat but overall very happy. (white handlebar tape not so white anymore) .

    New Pics?

Just bought one of these frames, fitted it with Ultegra SL and It looks very nice, seems a lot heavier than my 2010 Ribble Sportive Racing though.

  • Yeah it is a bit front heavy, mine maybe more so as I have the newer frame with the 1 1/8" - 1 1/2" headset which has a wider head tube also. Cant think of any good matching forks tbh.
