It's been dry here so I think it should be OK but depends on what conditions are like where you are.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

Rain in the forecast in the North West. May be a day for some indoor training for me!0
-
Possibly down to -4 overnight too pokerface, looks like a slippy one.
Might be lucky and get an afternoon short run if it dries out.0 -
chaingang through cheshire tomorrow am, bring it on?0

I'm not going to risk it. Few mates have came off on corners on black ice. The boredom of the turbo beats that any day."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

It's fine here in MCR. Going to try and do 150k today.0

Weather forecasters are warning that January will be a really cold month :x0

another morning with a minus sign in front of the temp in leeds........ I cant remember a sustained period of cold weather like this before0

Cumbria looks like it's hovering between -2 and +1 today. Problem is most of the snow from before christmas hasn't melted yet and we've just had a fresh dump on top of it! I'm starting to reconsider my ambition to live in the Alps!
Still, 3 hours it is!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I want to live in the alps but thats because I am a skier as well as cyclist - if you dont do winter sports forget the alps, you wont do much cycling there between december and april !0 -
Think today is a day for a quick MTB ride & then move the turbo from the garage where its used to store thing on - to the house so it gets used!
Managed to convince the wife that she would use it too Just need to convince her the kids won't mess with it, therefore it can go in the playroom with the tv & DVD player0 -
Anyone fancy meeting up at Box Hill for a ride??0

Got out for 3 hours in the snow wearing about 6 layers and sweating buckets! Most roads were untouched by cars, so I could get very good grip as long as I didn't drop below 25k or so and didn't make any sharp turns. Could have done with knobblies really. It's ice that makes it dangerous and luckily there was none around. With the rain starting up, I can see there'll be a bit of it around if the temperatures go below zero tonight. Bad times. :?0

which is why I am off to watch leeds v bath and drink some beer0 -
50 miles done in the Peak - got caught out in a blizzard - OK heavy snow anyway - surprising how grippy fresh snow is but it didn't make for a great training ride.

50 miles and two x 30 min threshold intervals DONE! sketchy climbing up towards whitehaven on the A595... Unrideable inside the white lines on the A66 (what is it with grit's magical powers to never cross a white line?)
And is there anybody in posession of a current driving license who adjusts their driving to the conditions? You know, little things like waiting until its safe and you can see before overtaking on a load of slush, not undertaking to get onto an icy roundabout a bit quicker, oh and not forcing people on two wheels to brake suddenly? [/rant]"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Did the coldest and slowest 62 miles ever today. Feet been on a hot water bottle since I got in.0

Quite badly iced where I live so I doubt I'll risk it.
I also agree with the standard of driving being very poor. When I drive in snow and ice, I'm always gentle with the throttle. I can't understand why anyone wants to drive at "normal" speeds in these conditions?CAAD9

Went out for 2 hours around Box Hill...Left it till 12 noon, before heading out ....most roads are perfect, the odd side road however is a bit icey.....very cold though.
Did not see many roadies just a few and a few more on MTB's
Still better than the Turbo anyday0 -
Did 53 miles at zero deg. Some side roads had yesterdays melt water runoff from fields frozen and crushed up by the traffic and re-frozen making it a get off and walk job so was 6mph down on usual.0

Went out to do 30 odd miles, but decided nah lets go for a metric century as it's the new year. So I did, was hard to motivate myself and it must have been below 0, lukilly roads where all clear.
I decided not to take any food, I ate loads of crap last night. So did 63 miles, surprised at my performance, this air really does slow me down though.
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/21508732 Does my flippin head in riding round here, 63 miles an apparently only 364ft of elevation, yet in Manchester a flat ride in cheshire ends up been about 1000ft maybe more for the same distance yet it does not feel any harder0
