Seatpost cutting

Sorry if this has been covered before but I couldnt find a thread.

I cant lower mine enough and need to take some length off but dont want to take off too much. How much length on your seatpost within the frame do you need?

    There should be a minimum insert line on the seatpost.

    It depends on the frame/post but a good 4" roughly or down past the top tube should be inserted into the frame.
