Focus have good deals on both (£800 each), but I can't decide between higher spec on a alu frame or 105 on the carbon frame. Any views??

D'oh, I meant Wiggle! I meant to add, I just need a general training bike for weekend jaunts and I'm a lard arse (100kg).

Over the past few years there hasn't been much difference between 105 and ultegra. I brought my bike with ultegra only because it cost me an an extra £90 - had it been much more I would have been happy with 105.

I would go for the Carbon frame. If it really irks you you can upgrade the components at a later date - not as easy to upgrade the frame
  • The Cayo frame is excellent.

Hmm, I'm erring more towards the carbon option. Still tempted by Planet-x current offer, If they would just have all my preferred options in stock at the same time...

Hmm, it does look good and it's 1/2lb lighter than the Cayo...Decisions decisions!
  • If you do go for the Culebro take my advice and opt into the sales my Ritchey wcs bars are going for £30 atm and the ritchey matt finish stem is about £50-60 and the Pro lite seatpost is the dearest thing at £83 ish but combining the lightness its unbeatable and word of warnig the Culebro comes with a 90mm stem so if you do get a longer one unlike most bikes foucs ones come with brake cables cut to size so i had to get a longer one done for my rear brake but it was only a small job for my LBS

Does anyone know the actual weight of these 2 bikes? Wiggle state 8.25kg for the Culebro and 8.6kg for the Cayo? They quote 8.2kg for the 2010 Cayo but I can't see on the spec list where they could have lost nearly a pound with hardly any change in spec?
  • The weight loss is in the frame i asked wiggle , the weight of the Culebro is actually 8.2 exactly ( mine is even lighter at 8.18kg) they used a higher grade carbon for the 2010 cayo hence the dramatic weight loss
