Mechanic training course?

I've searched the internet, forum and countless other sites, but can find no useful information on the subject. I would like to go on one, as having a quite long summer this year a job would be pretty handy. The information I have found is aimed towards London and the southern areas of the country. I haven't really seen anywhere in the North West. Where do I start? Have you done one? Where did you do it? Is there also an age limit? Being 16 would i be allowed to do it? Oh and cost?

    I did my cytech training in Manchester but if your not already in the cycle industry it costs about £1000 so it would be better for you to get a job in a bike shop first.

    Go on Coed Llandegla site, then click on link to OnePlanetAdventure, go on courses, and i believe that ive seen a mechanic course on there.
