HGVs being a danger to cyclists is clearly not a new thing, as seen on the cab-door tally chart at 0:38 of this Not the Nine O Clock News vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLnMH47kzro

(just been watching a documentary about the show, it was a little before my time but somehow I've picked up bits of it over the years)

    Such classic lyrics, that show was so above my head as a kid but I can appreicate it much better now :D

    and... did you know the only reason they did that song is because Mr Bean had an HGV license so they were pissing about because he could drive a truck...

    Saw some the other night and they did the song "The Memory Kinda Lingers", now I watched it originally as a very young teenager, and never got all the jokes, but this song had me in complete hysterics the other night.

    Great show, great cast.....

    not quite...

    mr bean may well have an HGV license, but the Roadtrain truck in the film was loaned by Leyland Vehicles (as it was at the time) and was driven by my old mate Ken, who has fond memories to this day of sharing his cab with pamela stephenson and remembering how she handled his gearstick.

    Completely OT and of no relevance whatsoever but Ken got around a bit with Leyland in the eighties and also drove an artic to Nevada in support of Richard Nobles Thrust2 land speed record.
