Ooh June time tricky, some places gonna be pricey !!!!
Liking NapD's comment, i've just back from a RIU hotel however mine was in Boa Vista (Cape Verde Islands).
However if it costs in at the time of year you require i recommend ......Costa Rica !!!!
Went there and stayed at the Grand Occidental and it was intimate however not too much ie nice. ........very peaceful and we also went zip-lining (cool), day trip to Nicaragua (cool) and also overnighted at the Arenal live volcano (again cool).... Absolute great place, just hope it has not been overdeveloped since i was last there.
Alternatively try NE Brazil .....(superb i went and then went to RIO for 3 days).
Travelled extensively in the caribbean but if you go there you'll either get ripped off or get stuck in a rat-trip, believe me i've been around a bit !!!
Congrat's and good luck.
Lee.
Best time to go to the Caribbean is our winter time, so Nov through to Feb or so. The weather is much better then.0 -
You will pay to park in San Francisco but its nice to have the whole valet parking thing, makes you feel special.
I seem to remember parking was free in Vegas with the hotel, just park up and leave it there.
Did not pay to park anywhere else on the trip.
Dont leave food in your car in Yosemite (Bears will trash your car if they get a whiff)
The Airport is practicaly on the strip so just a short cab ride.
Navigate Vegas either by cab or via hotel monorails that go between casinos or if you like a trek walk the strip, it is deceptive though as everything surrounding you is so immense.
Pre book your helicopter flight to avoid ques etc, we wre advised to go on an early flight as the canyons colours are more vivid.
We didnt venture into mexico as our concierge said border crossing can be a real pain, San Diego however has a massive Mexican Quarter with brilliant restaurants and the best Margeritas I have ever had"BEER" Proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy0 -
Thanks for all the advice.
This has been and gone now.
We did
San Fran 3 nights
3 nights on way to LA
LA 3 nights
Palm Springs 3 nights
Vegas 3 nights
In a soft top Mustang. Was really good, and I managed to keep it all a surprise from my wife until we were on the train on the way to the airport.
Managed to do it on quite a reasonable budget. There is lots of money to be saved from advaned planning and shopping around. If anyone else is planning similar I'm happy to share.0 -
That sounds like a fabulous trip. I be she thinks you're the best husband in the world.
Of course you now have to keep up that standard0 -
