Hello,

I'm looking for a black or possibly white flat bar for my hybrid. Also a new stem which would probably prefer to be black with white plate. This is to go on a Specialized Sirrus Expert.

Current width of bars is 580mm with 5 degree bend. Don't know what the length of the stem is. What is "normal" length stemfor such a bike?

The range of bars is pretty limited for hybrids and most flat bars seem to come with more or different degree bends for mountain bikes. Has anyone see any out there which might be suitable or have any ideas of where is good to look?

Cheers

any mtb flat bar should be fine - what degree bend do you want?

most flat bars are 5 degree. The flat tracker style bars are closer to 10 degree.

The usual suspects are well regarded - Ritchey, FSA, Easton etc.

you need to decide whether you want alu or carbon, or indeed ti, and either 25.4mm clamp or the more usually these days, 31.8mm (oversize) clamp.

as for stem length, go by the the length of your current stem, measured centre-to-centre, and adjust accordingly. If you want longer, go longer. On most hybrids you're looking at anything between 90mm and 120mm usually, depending on the frame size and the postion you want. Longer = more aero, shorter = more upright.

Bars and stems often come up on ebay too, for a few quid usually.
