Hi,
Sorry if this isn't the right place for this one but I'm not sure where else it would go...
Anyway, as the title says, what is the difference between the merlin frames?
I can see the malt 4 is made from a different alloy - which will obviously have an effect on the weight and rigidity but is that the only difference?
Thanks,
Ed

classing the RL as an all rounder really depends quite strongly on your definition of all rounder- I use mine for everything, it works, and I wouldn't trade it, but I got pretty battered at CYB. Having said that, I'm not sure how much more 'all round' a 100mm hardtail can beRock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0

The shape too, is suggested on their website as the other difference.
"is formed under high pressure to give unique tube profiles"

The MALT 4 is made of a slightly stronger aluminium alloy and weighs half a pound less on average than the MALT 2.
The 853 is steel.0 -
