does anyone use velocity wheels. in looking at building a wheelset with velocity aerohead rims. they are one of the few that do off centre spoke hole in the rear. im not sure where to get them in the uk. i read an article where a chap built a pair for his cycling buddy with sapim cx ray db spokes. the guy is 6'3" 210lbs and a time trialist. he has had 10000 miles with no trueing needed. they are also a very light rim and not to pricey. american made i think. any advise welcome. the end result would be like the velocity nuvian wheelset. 28 spoke radial front and 32 spoke oc rear. heavier riders cant aviod the fact that a higher spoke count is beneficial.

I've had a pair of aerohead rims on order for a few months now. They are Australian, so that may account for the delay. I got ordered them from here http://www.53-12.com/. They have quite a lot of rims in stock, just not the 32 hole rims I was after. Price was about £37-£40 a rim I think. You could also try Brick lane bikes, as they used to stock them, probably still do.0

I'm using record hubs. They should come out nice, black hubs, black DT comp, and black rims. Try calling 53-12, they're good people to deal with.0

Yeah, they're in Colchester, Essex. I only came across the place by accident as I've got family there. I think they'll build them with whatever spoke you want. I already had the hubs, and they seemed to think the DT's were still a decent spoke. Their wheelbuilder has been doing it for 50 years or so, so he's certain to have a lot of knowledge and can advise accordingly.0
