Gt avalanche expert 2008 or 2009?

Hi Guys,

I am looking at purchasing a GT avalanche. I have tried my cousins 2007 1.0 and love it. I have found these two and am unsure on which give me best value?

I'm happy with the bike frame and size (small 16"). My question is, does the spec on the 2009 model warrant the price difference £499 & £629?

There is also a 2008 force 3.0 for £880 (http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.p ... 439&z=1657) but I think this may be a step too far as I am quite new to MTB and dont think I could maintain a FS without it costing me a fortune.

Any advice welcome

FS doesn't always cost a lot to maintain - most maintenance is just the cleaning of the parts.

There is little in the Avalanches, the newer one having a better crank and an updated frame.

Do you think that the 2009 modle is worth the extra cash then? Or would the extra cash be better spent upgrading the 2008?

What are your thoughts on the force 3.0? seems alot of bike for the money?

2009 Avalanche Disc 1.0 from www.Sunsetmtb.co.uk for £549 and you can get 18 months interest free as well that's where I just got mine from..
