I needed to replace the bearings in my Lapierre spicy and ordered a Cane Creek is3 integrated headset but the bearings are slightly larger than the standard ones I removed and dont fit in the headtube cups.

Which headsets are compatible with the lapierres?

This is what the UK importer told me to get which I did...

welovelapierre sell a FSA Orbit Z which they say works

with the key details being:-

1-1/8", 36/45 angular contact bearings
For 50mm OD headtube
Forged alloy deep cups
Stack height 9.9+2.6=12.5

thanks in adv

EDIT: it seems like the confusion is coming from different people using integrated / semi integrated / zero stack incorrectly.

    The FSA one looks correct.

You want a semi-integrated headset. Beware, there are different types of headset available and also manufacturers who have different ideas of what theirs is.

Integrated headset is one where there are no cups. The sealed bearing cartidges fit directly into the frame.

Semi- integrated menas that you have metal cups where the bearings (sealed or not) fit into. These cups are pressed into the frame, but unlike the older Aheadset version they are pressed fully into the frame so the stack height is much lower.

I'd suggest a little background research into the different headset varieties available.

I replaced my headset with a semi integrated (similar to the FSA one).

    Hope this helps...

Does you headset have shallow cups? Have a look.

Semi Integrated is a poor term - they are either integrated (no cups) or have cups. The Internal and Zero STack system uses very shallow cups.
  • thank you. mine has shallow cups....it looks like a zero stack system. I think the info I got from UK distributor was wrong.

Park tools shows comparisons and bearings sizes.

The bearings can be bought seperately if you wish.
