fitting an isis bb

I have bought an isis crankset and bb for my new bike, what tool do i need to fit the bb? Is it the same as the old shimano (square taper,pre hollowtech) ones or do i need to get a new tool?

Find out how many splines your BB has in case you have a non standard ISIS. Is it 8 or 20?

To remove crankarms in future, your existing crank puller may still be compatible or you will need a splined one.

Providing the Isis BB has internal splines then the Shimano one will fit.

Standard Hollowtech BB tool will do - your LBS should have them

some HT tools don't quite fit over the ISIS axle

get an ISIS-specific tool - that will fit ISIS and HT

as mentioned it depends on the make of BB you have bought.

Truvative use an external fitting tool and others use internal fitting.

shimano tools tend not to fit due to the different axle design.
