Light mounting problem - advice needed.

Hi, bought a set of lights (Topeak Red White Lite Combo. £21.99 on CRC). Rear fits my 2009 BeOne Storm no problem but front is proving a problem. The handlebars on the bike are tapered - thicker in the centre and taper to outside. Fitting won't work near centre as bars too big - mid-point has cables in the way and slightly too big - 2/3rds distance from stem is fine... except when my hands aren't on the hoods. Light will fit to stem but it will be pointing sideways so defeating purpose of light :? . Any ideas anyone?

A section of old innertube may well help?Cycling weakly0

If you look at his lights, you see the oragami inner tube technique won't work. Light just too big. Here it is anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrfZhEzjWwg
Another cheap DIY mount.

I suggest some adjustable or adhesive velcro straps.0 -

In DIY stores or in discount shops, there is a product called 'Hook and Loop' made by many brands. It's a 2 strip of sticky velcro. That may do it. Alternatively in Halford's there is a number of simple to complex adjustable straps.0

What about a handlebar extension I use it for attaching my light and computer leaving the handlebar clutter free.

Upside down tribars ! Genius.
Although couldnt you have used them the right way up and hung the light down underneath ?0
