fitting front mech

well my new xt front mech came yesturday and seen as i get to finish work early today im hopefully gonna have time to fit it this afternoon as its my 1st time fitting and setting up a front mech wondered if theres any tips you could give me??

well thats my xt front mech fitted, had fun setting it up dont think i'll be changing it too soon lol

it does now but only after 15mins head scratching then i realized the mech was too high up the tube lol (as in pic)

So you did not read the info one Parktools then.

The gap between the teeth of the outer chainring and lower edge of the outer cage plate should be 1-2mm, about the thickness of a penny. Using a penny or a dime as a feeler gauge, fit it between the chainring teeth and the cage plate. It should just fit between the teeth and plate.

i read the parktools info at work this morning but dint get round to fitting the mech till this afternoon so wernt fresh in my mind!! :x

nevermind dint take too long for me to realise what wasnt right and adjust it 8)
