Crud roadracers - back one broke...

Well kind of,
Had these one for nearly 3 month now, had no probs, but today as I was setting off from some lights, I noticed a large amount of friction coming from back wheel.
Pulled over and quickly noticed the rear mudguard had 'pulled through' the wheel, so viewed from the side it had turned about 45 degrees because the zip tie area at the top of the mudguard had worn through, meaning it had nothing supporting it above the tyre. The zip tie is still in place but when I pulled the guard back, the hole was now all the way through, as apposed to just 2 slots for the zip tie.
Managed to bodge it to get home but will need fixing somehow.
Hard to explain without pics, will post tomorrow with updates.

Mr Crud might be feeling generous this xmas. Drop him an email and you might get lucky, the aftersales service he provides is excellent.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

I've had this happen and I think it's going to happen again and again, design flaw? I think I prefer my bike without the bother of mudguards, so I'm not going to bother.0

Or just get something proven like Race Blades or Razor Guards.............0 -
Happened to me, cable tie was too tight.0

Wow, this must be a design flaw then! Shame as I thought these things were pretty much bombproof.
I noticed Mr Crud frequents this forum occasionally, maybe we should alert him to the prob?0 -
Happened to me with the front guards a month ago. The clearance between the guard and the tyre is only a couple of mm under the brakes/fork (Colnago Primavera). I suspect a piece of grit got stuck between the tyre and the guard pushing the guard forwards which caused the mouting eye to fracture so the guard went about 6-8" forward and siezed up the wheel. I had to rip the guard off and throw it in the nearest bin to get on with the rest of my ride that day.
I did purchase another set and so far OK.0
